Hi my name is Claudio Rappoccio aka Clafrica, I'm a professional sound engineer, music producer and DJ born and raised in Sicily.
I started early paying my dues in the local hip-hop and reggae scene, Djing in squats and clubs all over Italy and, later on, started getting interested in the word of audio.
I started by learning the craft of recording and music production at SAE Institute and later on through internships in different recording studios around Italy. The most meaningful experience was back home in Sicily where I was hired as a resident engineer at The Cave Studio, a fully analogue recording studio, where I learned how to operate a 1975 Harrison 32c shipped straight from Nashville, as well as all the most sought after vintage outboard and studio microphones.
The hunger for more ultimately led me to the UK, where I obtained a master degree in Sound Design at the University of Edinburgh.
2019 was a very busy and prolific year for me, as I officially released my first music projects on labels such as Axe on Wax, Vakum and Deep&Roll.
I'm currently based in South East London where I work as a live engineer and mix out of my personal studio in Bermondsey.
My goal is to present my personal aesthetic of sound to the listener and help other musicians achieve the sound they hear in their head, spreading as much good music as possible.
I have mixed and recorded artists and bands of almost every genre and I'm always enthusiastic to bring their vision to life.
